Reclaiming Your Power: Why Your Pace is Not a Problem

May 19, 2025

Do you ever look back at the end of the day and say, "how did I not get more done?". Thinking to yourself, I know I ran on coffee and a prayer because I didn't even have time to sit down and eat something, so what gives? I sure didn't waste time today and yet everything seemed to take longer than I planned. If you're like me you then stay up a little later to do a couple extra things and then beat yourself up in the morning when you are tired from not getting enough sleep. Then you add whatever didn't get finished today to tomorrow's to-do list. And the whole cycle starts again. Yikes, my nervous system starts ramping up just thinking about it. Time to stop and take a deep breath.

We live in a world that glorifies urgency, where slowing down can feel like falling behind. But here's the truth: Your pace isn't a problem - it's a signal.

As women — whether we’re leading at work, at home, or both — we’re often praised for how much we can carry. But your brilliance isn’t in how much you do. It’s in how clearly you choose what matters most.

I'll say that again. It's in how clearly you choose what matters most.

Mindset isn’t just about thinking positive — it’s about choosing thoughts that empower your next step.
So today, I invite you to reframe:

  • Slowing down isn’t lazy — it’s strategic.

  • Rest isn’t weakness — it’s fuel.

  • Saying no isn’t rude — it’s wise.

Whether you're in a season of growth, recovery, or rediscovery — you don’t have to earn your right to peace or purpose.

Hold your hand over your heart, take a few deep breaths and repeat this to yourself.

“I am allowed to move forward at my pace. I am allowed to redefine success. I am allowed to feel whole now — not someday.”

This is your reminder: Your pace is purposeful.
Your presence is powerful.
And you’re already making a difference — even before the to-do list is done.
